Senior Team

TMG’s Senior Management Team has over 80 years of combined experience in the association environments.  This total experience provides clients with a bottom line business and management orientation tempered by an understanding of the non-profit mission, objectives and role of volunteer leadership.  These individuals lead TMG’s other 74 staff in all areas of our service to clients.

 

Gregg H. Talley, CAE, President

Gregg H. Talley, CAE, President and CEO, has a broad range of experience from several perspectives within the industry over his 23-year career.

Before founding TALLEY MANAGEMENT GROUP, INC., Gregg worked with convention bureaus, a hotel development company and another multi-management firm.  In 1987, he founded TALLEY MANAGEMENT GROUP, INC. with his partner and father Robert K. Talley.

Gregg has specialized in professional society and association management with a sub-specialty in corporate meeting management. He has personally planned and managed several major international conferences of groups from 3,000 - 50,000 in the US and abroad.  Additionally Gregg consults with both TMG clients and external clients on strategic facilitation, development and implementation.  He currently carries the title of Chief Strategy Executive for the Convention Industry Council, a TMG client.  Gregg is a Past-Chair of the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) and currently serves as the Treasurer on its Foundation Board.  In addition, he is Treasurer of the Association Management Company Institute, the trade association for AMCs.

In April 2011, Gregg was awarded PCMA’s 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award.

 

Lisa Astorga, CMP, Director of Meeting and Conventions

Lisa Astorga, CMP, Director of Meeting and Events, brings over 14 years of Association and Corporate Meeting planning experience. This experience includes the ability to plan and produce Domestic as well as International meetings with attendees ranging from 100-50,000. Specific areas of expertise include budget and financial management and coordination with Planning Committees and Vendors. With an emphasis on current industry trends she has been successful in marketing and promotion to increase sponsorship and attendee awareness.  Lisa serves as Director of Meetings and Events for TMG and provides oversight to client conferences and our event management team and works with all our International Conferences and partners.  Ms. Astorga is currently active and a member of the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA); sits on various Industry and Customer Advisory Boards, as well as participates in Local and Community Programs.

Charles L. Sapp, CPA, CAE Director of Association Management Services Division


Charles (Chuck) L. Sapp, CPA, CAE, Director of the Association Management Services Division, brings a unique combination of experiences and skills to our association management team.  Mr. Sapp has almost 20 years of experience working with complex association management structures and related services.  As a registered, certified public accountant he brings years of experience in the financial, tax and audit issues facing today’s not-for-profits. 

In addition, Chuck is also a Certified Association Executive and has specialization in operational and financial management and process improvement in all areas of operations of the not-for-profit entity.  He has extensive experience in governance development in times of change with multiple organizations, both domestic and international in focus.  Applying these experiences and accomplishments to the needs of the individual member and association is evident at every level of his association management style.
