TALLEY MANAGEMENT GROUP, INC., a global provider of business management services to a wide range of Associations and Trade Organizations both for non-profit and profit, has an immediate opening for an Jr Staff Accountant. This position will involve working closely with the Accounting team on varied accounting projects.
Our accounting team is an integral part of the services we provide. We want someone who will skillfully support the senior members of the accounting team perform AP, AR and financial functions for multiple clients. You must be someone who enjoys challenges, possesses a proactive approach to getting things done, and is able to manage multiple deadlines. Some specific responsibilities will be as follows:
Typical Responsibilities:
- Assist with monthly close process
- Assist with the monthly/annual journal entries and account analysis
- Assist in the production of accurate interim and year end financial statements
- Assist with the coordination of financial audits
- Substantial support of AR & AP Functions
- Periodically do bank reconciliations
- Review, approve, and reconcile travel expense reports
- Determine and record investment account transactions
- Periodically perform account reconciliations as needed
- Assist in establishing deposit accounts
- Assist in preparation of annual operating budgets
- Respond effectively to inquiries from external and internal sources
- Perform other duties, special projects and tasks as needed
Qualified Candidates will posses:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 2+ years of increasing accounting experience
- Experience with FRX reporting and MAS500 or comparable systems is a plus
- Strong Excel skills preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, including Word
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information

- Well developed organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain open communication with coworkers

Qualified candidates must possess the following:
- Minimum BS degree in Computer Science or related field
- At least 5 years experience in an similar position
- Formal training in database management
- Experience designing, creating, and administrating iMIS and VAnGo solutions
- Extensive experience with Crystal Reports or similar software
- Experience in SQL server administration including use of Query tools
- Experience in Web Site development
- Extensive experience with MS Access
- Excellent project management Skills
- Strong knowledge of industry Best Practices (IT and Software Development environments)
