Position: Executive Director

Division: Association Management Services Division

At Talley Management Group, Inc. our mission is to create stronger communities and human connections to enhance global society.  We are currently seeking an Executive Director to help strengthen our community and support the mission of our client partner, the American Headache Society.

This position will be located within our Mount Royal, NJ Headquarters, conveniently located 10 miles from Philadelphia, PA.  A successful candidate will have prior association management experience, preferably with a medical focused organization.  As the Executive Director, the individual will work directly with the AHS CEO and the AHS volunteer leadership to provide strategic guidance, and the implement the policies and programs as assigned.  This position will lead a team of 4 full time staff to maintain the highest of service levels of AHS day to day operations.

  • Coordinate all resources (both internal and external) required to meet the needs of the client
  • Manage team meetings and projects to ensure targets, deadlines and financial goals are met
  • Maintain effective working relationships with officers, members, client staff, vendors and other parties associated with meeting the client’s needs
  • Approve all expenses associated with assigned client (monthly invoice coding for payment)
  • Prepare and manage budgets and verify monthly financial reports
  • Report to respective Boards (or officers) on a monthly basis
  • Coordinate all resources (both internal and external) required to meet the needs of the client
  • Organize, coordinate and facilitate Board, Executive and Committee meetings and activities Board/Executive/Committee meetings
  • Gain understanding of the society, strategic alliances, partnerships, sponsors and stakeholders
  • Help client set realistic goals and take the initiative to help client achieve objectives
  • Participate on an ongoing basis in meetings related to meeting company goals, servicing clients and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Supervise staff, help define goals, development opportunities and path to success
  • Travel as Required to attend meetings or for business purposes required by the client


  • Effective written and verbal communications and ability to communicate well with all levels both within and outside the organization.
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experienced Supervisor of Staff
  • Extensive Microsoft Office Experience
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet required deadlines
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Ability to make clear, concise, and effective presentations.
  • Strong understanding of managing finances
  • 5+ years ASAE Certification CAE (desired)
  • Bachelor’s Degree or other equal professional experiences
