Washington, DC, 1/27/2014 – – The American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) has announced that Joseph Sapp, CAE, an Executive Director at Talley Management Group, Inc has earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential.  The CAE is the highest professional credential in the association industry.  Less than five percent of all association professionals have earned the CAE.

To be designated as a Certified Association Executive, an applicant must have a minimum of three years’ experience in nonprofit organization management, complete a minimum of 100 hours of specialized professional development, pass a stringent examination in association management, and pledge to uphold a code of ethics.  To maintain the certification, individuals must undertake ongoing professional development and activities in association and nonprofit management.  More than 4,000 association professionals currently hold the CAE credential.  The CAE program is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).

In addition to earning the CAE, this past year Joe was selected to participate in ASAE’s First Annual NextGen Association Summit in Reno, NV. The NextGen Summit brought together leading young association professionals to discuss how associations can engage the next generation of professionals.  In addition to his duties as an Executive Director for TMG, Sapp is currently serving in a volunteer capacity on the Mid-Atlantic Society of Association Executives Board of Directors.

“Joe is a great example of the association professional of the future and we are proud of his passion and commitment to the industry, our clients and our firm,” said Gregg H. Talley, CAE, FASAE, President and CEO of Talley Management Group, Inc.
