Gregg H. Talley, CAE, President, has a broad range of experience from several perspectives within the industry over his 20-year career.
Before founding TALLEY MANAGEMENT GROUP, INC., Gregg worked with convention bureaus, a hotel development company and another multi-management firm. In 1987, he founded TALLEY MANAGEMENT GROUP, INC. with his partner and father Robert K. Talley.
Gregg has specialized in medical association management. He has personally planned and managed several major international conventions of groups from 3,000 - 50,000. In addition, he has extensive experience in planning and managing events throughout the world. Gregg has also served as chair of PCMA and currently serves on their board.
TMG Senior Management
TMG’s Senior Management Team has over 80 years of combined experience in the association environments. This total experience provides clients with a bottom line business and management orientation tempered by an understanding of the non-profit mission, objectives and role of volunteer leadership. These individuals lead TMG’s other 52 staff in all areas of our service to clients.
TMG Managers and Project Coordinators: Demonstrated Leaders and Active Professionals
TMG appoints a team to manage clients on a day-to-day basis. The team is headed by a senior management representative who oversees the overall relationship and ensures that the full value of TMG’s experience is being delivered to each client. The named principal attends at least one client event per year and participates in the annual performance review.
TMG appoints an experienced manager to act as the client’s Executive Director. This individual coordinates the delivery of all TMG services and personnel to the client. This individual works with the Officers, Board and Committee Chairs.
An experienced Meeting Manager is assigned to plan and manage conferences. This manager develops and maximizes this revenue source for clients working with volunteers and the management team.
Administrative Assistants support each of these executives. All are named and known to the membership at large.
Accounting, membership, registration and reception personnel also join the team to complete the staffing for clients. In all, on a given day up to 15 people are be involved in providing TMG service level to each client.
TMG values each of our managers and project coordinators on staff. Some of these managers have risen through the ranks of TMG to become the specialists they are today. Headquarter managers are members of the American Society for Association Executives and other professional groups, and each takes a leadership role in those groups. Our meeting managers are also involved in their professional societies, such as the Professional Convention Management Association and Meeting Planners International.
Support Staff: Professionally Developed to Better Serve
The professional development of everyone on the TMG team is critical to our success. As new support team members grow in their knowledge and experience, they are given the opportunity to advance in the organization to enhance their service to clients and grow professionally.
TMG recognizes the need for its staff to remain current in the association community. Our professional affiliations include: the American Association of Association Executives (ASAE); the International Association of Management Companies (IAAMC); the International Association of Exhibition Managers (IAEM); Meeting Planners International (MPI); American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA); and the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA).
