"Thank you all for a very successful day at the CIC Council and Board meetings. Together we have come a long way from June, 2008!
In recognition of the job and the results that the TMG Team and Karen, in particular, has produced, I wanted to alert you that the Board unanimously voted to promote Karen Kotowski to CIC's CEO title from COO.
When CIC moved to TMG in June 2008 we intentionally left that title vacant until we saw what the new structure and team would look like. Both Gregg and Tina had executive titles for us and then they searched for a day-to-day COO. Karen joined the CIC team in December 2008 and hit the ground running. Karen has built her team and worked tirelessly on our behalf in moving all of the CIC initiatives and programs forward significantly in her 16 months with us.
Our strategic discussion did touch on the "face" of CIC and we all agreed that it needed to be our-day-to-day Chief Staff Executive. That person is Karen. We felt it was important for Karen to have the title and recognition of the job she serves for us in working with all of our stakeholders. Gregg remains our Chief Strategy Executive.
Please join us in congratulating Karen on what she has and will continue to do for CIC as our CEO!"

"As Immediate Past Chair of the [the organization] and
on behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to take time to share with you
the successes we enjoyed during the Fall 2008 conference...
The Fall 2008 conference was the best yet! We
found [the Talley staff] to be most professional as well as interactive with the
membership. They were proactive in handling problems. Events ran
smoothly, both day and night. The gift giveways and prizes were top notch.
Compliments were well-deserved for the detail given for the entertainment as
well as the food and beverage. [Talley staff] fit in well with the board
and membership and seemed to enjoy his participation which allowed for smooth
transitions; to take charge or to just give a nudge, as needed, to move things
along. Always at the ready.
Problems that did occur, which are to be expected, were
handled well. In the instance involving signage, for example, the mistake
was acknowledged quickly and a new sign was flown in to the satisfaction of the
sponsor whose name was missed on the original placard. That experience
reassures us that when glitches do happen we have confidence that they will be
dealt with in a manner that is consistent with our expectations.
As important as it has been in the past to highlight
areas of change, it is now time to recognize all of the successes and say "thank
you." We are definitely seeing the benefit of the effort, dedication and
focus provided by Talley.
