5 Easy Ways to Create Exclusive Event Experiences—And Increase Revenue!

A recent article about a new trend in event pricing sparked a few ideas for professional and trade associations looking to boost the value of their events, while bringing in more revenue. The article used examples from concerts, large music festivals and consumer conventions to demonstrate the power of creating exclusive event experiences. We at Talley Management Group believe that associations can apply this principle to their own existing meeting, conference, or trade show, and it’s not as hard as you might think. Here are a few possibilities:
Ask your speakers or subject matter experts to offer an additional, ticketed experience. Add speaker-hosted roundtables during a luncheon, or let your speakers show off personal interests by leading a wine-tasting or yoga class.
Price those seats closest to the speaker at a premium. If the setup of the room allows, provide access to these seats through an exclusive entrance.
Offer VIP lounge tickets for access to dedicated space with extra amenities like device-charging stations, snacks and beverages, and comfortable seating. This may prove especially popular when your sessions may be farther away from hotel guest rooms or attendees do not require overnight stay.
Package content-related benefits into an exclusive experience, such as meet-and-greets with speakers and/or thought leaders, signed copies of a speaker’s book, or a discount on merchandise in the conference bookstore.
Consider offering executive concierge service at a premium: someone to handle print jobs, set up meetings with exhibitors, or arrange for a quiet place for attendee to take a call.
These are just five ideas to get you started. The bottom line? Creating memorable, exclusive experiences for your attendees will increase the bottom line for your association and keep them coming back for more!
